Letter: Terms to slow terrorists

The Columbian
Published: August 3, 2014, 12:00am

Terrorists are taught, not born. Every bomb teaches 100 potential terrorists.

We can stop the bombs in Palestine. We tell Iran that we will give Israel 40 days and 40 nights to make peace with the Palestinians or we will shut off all war materials and money to them. Their war machine will go broke. Iran would have to do the same with Hamas. We and Iran would have Hamas, the Palestinians and Israelis sign an agreement of at least these points.

  1. Jerusalem would have to become an international city for all faiths.

  2. The Palestinians would no longer be blocked by sea or land, with the wall coming down and ship blockades being removed with no checkpoints.

  3. We, the Iranians and the Israelis would rebuild what Israel has destroyed.

If the Arabs see that the U.S. isn’t helping Israel kill them, less terrorism will be taught. Now if you believe in the Old Testament (an eye for an eye) like the Jewish faith does, you know it might not work. But if you believe in the New Testament (turn the other cheek and love your neighbor) it should.

What are we?
