Organizers have released the schedule for this year’s Clark County Day of Service, which is coming up next month.

The event, now in its third year, will be Sept. 13, and it will feature several volunteer community service opportunities. The list of projects includes trail maintenance at Morgan Creek Park in Battle Ground and clean-up projects at Hearthwood Park in east Vancouver and along various highway locations.

Organizers from Clark County Connects put together the projects this year. In a news release, committee organizer Gary Bock said more than 1,000 volunteers have helped on the Day of Service in the past two years.

The day will begin with a kickoff event for volunteers at 8 a.m. at the Share Fromhold Service Center, 2306 Andresen Road. Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt will attend to welcome everyone.

Organizers are encouraging volunteers to bring food donations, which will go to local food banks. To sign up for projects or find more information, visit clarkcountyconnects.org or Clark County Connects’ Facebook page.
