FIFE, — Police are looking at the driver of an SUV who dragged an officer who tried to arrest him at a Fife truck stop and then fired at officers chasing him on Interstate 5.
KOMO reports the officer fired as he was being dragged but missed. The officer was treated for cuts at scratches at a hospital.
The incident began about 1 a.m. Monday with an armed robbery in Fife.
David Woods of Fife police say the officer found the suspect vehicle at Love’s Travel Stop where there was a violent struggle.
The man with a woman passenger fled on Interstate 5. Woods says officers saw muzzle flashes, but no officers were hit by the gunfire.
Officers lost sight of the fleeing SUV in Tacoma.
