Ridgefield — The Pioneer Grange has been picked as a collection site for used clothes that will be gathered by a company in exchange for money given back to the grange. St. Pauly Textile, based in New York state, maintains hundreds of collection sheds around the country, but this is its first in Washington. The for-profit company gathers donated clothes and sells them in bulk to relief organizations and other groups looking for inexpensive clothing to benefit those in need. The grange will be given money by the company for each pound of clothes that are donated, which will help the building raise funds for its new roof campaign, according to a press release.
