A man armed with a handgun held up a Hazel Dell market about 8:45 p.m. Sunday, apparently assaulting a clerk in the process.
The robbery occurred at the El Pueblito Mexican Store, 7817 N.E. Highway 99.
According to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian the robber entered the store and displayed a black handgun. He assaulted the clerk before fleeing.
He was described as a black man, medium build, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, wearing a black sweater with white lettering, black jeans, and black shoes.
Clark County sheriff’s deputies responded and are investigating.
