Clark men’s soccer beats Highline, 4-1

Ian Schimandle scored twice as the Clark College men’s soccer team beat Highline with a second-half burst.

Schimandle, a freshman from Cheney, scored the game’s first goal in the 50th minute in Tukwila.

The forward added his second in the 65th minute. Teammates Alex Lohr and Octavio Hermosillo also scored.

The Penguins are now 1-0-1 on the season. Their home opener is Sept. 3 against Willamette.

o The Clark women’s soccer team lost its season opener 5-0 to Highline on the road.

After falling behind in the 2nd minute, Clark stayed close until a four-goal second-half barrage.
