Letter: Incredible creatures fall victim

I was appalled by the Aug. 19 story “Alabama hunters snag half-ton gator.” There was no mention if the 1,011½-pound gator did anyone any harm, just a jubilant family that said “We give all the glory to God. Ten men couldn’t have done what we did.”

Are they saying that they gave all the glory to God for making such an incredible creature or gave all the glory to God for letting them kill him? The family plans to send the gator to a taxidermy shop but said, “Beyond that, they’re not sure what they’re going to do with it.” What a waste of a beautiful creature just for the pleasure of a kill.
