OLYMPIA — A noble fir tree cut from an Olympia tree farm has arrived at the Washington state Capitol.

The state holiday tree was installed Monday in the Capitol Rotunda and staff started the process of decorating it with more 5,000 LED lights and nearly 200 decorations, including stuffed characters from the Disney movie “Frozen.” A public tree-lighting ceremony sponsored by the Association of Washington Business will take place on Friday.

The tree was donated by Winkelworld Noble Fir Tree Farm, which said the tree was about 35-feet tall. When the tree is taken down on Dec. 30, the stuffed animals will be wrapped and given to patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
