More on filming in Clark County.

Dan Considine’s scene in “Wild” may be small, but filming with Reese Witherspoon left an impression on the actor that he won’t soon forget.

When parts of the film were shot last year in locations in Vancouver and Portland, Considine worked for a day with the actress on a wooded, freezing outdoor set.

It was the first Screen Actors Guild role for the former Portland resident, who now lives in Los Angeles, and he was nervous about working with such a high-profile star, he said.

So what was it like?

“The first thing that happened, she came up to me and said, ‘Oh hon, you have some boogers in your beard,’ ” Considine said with a laugh. “That was our first interaction! That gets you over your nervousness real quick.”

Originally, Considine had read for a different role. But in the process, the director decided he was perfect to play the part of “Weird Dude,” he said with a tinge of amusement.

Working with Witherspoon was a fantastic experience, he added.

“Reese, she has such a great reputation, and it’s true,” Considine said. “She’s an absolute sweetheart, a consummate professional. She was way down-to-earth and very chill. It was very fun.”

“Wild,” which is based on the best-selling memoir by Portland author Cheryl Strayed, opens Dec. 5.
