Letter: Shutdown threat is irresponsible

Our “if-I-can’t -have-my-way-I’ll-take-my-ball-and-go-home” Republicans are threatening to shut down our government again on Dec. 11. This is a serious step and should not be used as a political pawn. Last time, it cost us $24 billion. Is this a valid reason for increasing our debt? How about if they shut us down, their pay and benefits get shut down, too?

Please call our congresswoman and suggest a more responsible way to solve problems.
