Girls basketball: Kalama 41, Woodland 31

Parker Esary scored seven points in the fourth quarter to help the visiting Chinooks to a rare win at Woodland.

Kalama (3-0) outscored Woodland 15-8 in the fourth quarter.

The Chinooks limited the Beavers to 16 points over the final three quarters after Woodland led 15-6 at the end of the first period.

Kendall Grell scored 12 points for Woodland (2-1). Jessica Flanagan finished with six rebounds, five assists and five steals.

Woodland coach Glenn Flanagan said his team settled too often for perimeter shots instead of attacking the basket.
