Boys basketball: Prairie 32, Battle Ground 31

The visiting Falcons prevailed in a game highlighted by tough defense at both ends of the floor.

Battle Ground missed a shot at the buzzer to secure the win for Prairie (3-2).

Palmer Goecke scored 11 points to lead Prairie.

Nate Moring, who led Battle Ground (2-1) with 12 points. His 3-pointer with 13 seconds left pulled the Tigers within one point. After Prairie missed free throw, Battle Ground got off a shot that missed.

Battle Ground played without point guard Kobe Ford (ankle injury).

“You’ve got to give Prairie a lot of credit,” Tigers coach Wes Armstrong said about the Falcons tough defense. Armstrong said that Battle Ground needed to play more assertively on offense.
