Local corporations Riverview, Tidewater and Waste Connections have each offered a $5,000 matching challenge, for a possible total of $15,000, to the Parks Foundation of Clark County.

If folks donate $15,000 by the end of the year, those companies will match it, bringing in a grand total of $30,000 during the Parks Foundation’s end-of-year campaign.

All the money raised will go directly to the foundation’s Community Grants program, which has supported everything from new swing sets to new trail construction to playground programs and swim lesson scholarships.

The program has granted $422,365 since 2009.

To qualify for the matching funds, donations must be received by Dec. 31. Visit www.parksfoundation.us/community-grants to learn more.

The nonprofit Parks Foundation of Clark County was established in 1999 to accept and administer donations, gifts and bequests for local parks, trails, and recreational programs.
