Event to collect block foam and electronics

Clark County residents can recycle block foam and old electronics during a free collection event next month.

People can bring clean, white block foam, perhaps from Christmas gift packaging, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at C-Tran’s Fisher’s Landing Transit Center, 3510 S.E. 164th Ave. in Vancouver. Electronic equipment will also be accepted. Working electronics no more than 5 years old are preferred, but nonfunctioning and obsolete equipment will also be accepted, according to the county.

Clark County’s Environmental Services Department stages waste collection and recycling events throughout the year. People can also recycle block foam at Empower Up, 3206 N.E. 52nd St. Empower Up accepts foam from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the county.
