Letter: It is not better to join adversaries

The revelations in the Senate Intelligence Committee’s report about the CIA torture of detainees are both shocking and saddening.

If our enemies are immoral, brutal and primitive and we are immoral, brutal and primitive in our fight against them, we don’t defeat them — we become them.
