Students of the Washington State University Vancouver Creative Media and Digital Culture program are hosting two events beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday in downtown Vancouver.

“A Radio Christmas Carol,” a live radio performance of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” begins at 7 p.m. at Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St. The radio drama by the Willamette Radio Workshop is directed by Sam A. Mowry. Doors open at 6 p.m. The event is free with a donation of a nonperishable food for the Clark County Food Bank.

The live radio performance is part of “Re-Imagined Radio,” a collaboration led by John Barber, Creative Media and Digital Culture faculty member, The Willamette Radio Workshop and the Kiggins Theatre.

The Willamette Radio Workshop re-creates radio drama from the Golden Age of radio, using only voice actors and Foley sound effects in front of a live audience. To learn more, visit www.radiowork.com.

Before the show, the Hough School Glee Singers and the Holly Jolly Singers will perform and lead the audience in caroling.

After the show, guests are invited next door to the Nouspace Gallery & Media Lounge inside Angst Gallery, 1015 Main St., for an 8 p.m. preview of two exhibits created by WSU Vancouver’s Creative Media and Digital Culture program.

“Touch, Move, Feel” is an exhibit of interactive art, poetry and sound installations by students and faculty of the CMDC program.

Guests will also have an opportunity to preview “Life Renewed,” a digital story of the recovery of animal and plant life on Mount St. Helens. In April, it will become a permanent installation at the Mount St. Helens Science and Learning Center at Coldwater Station.
