A Clark County man was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of hitting three cars while trying to elude police in a stolen vehicle.

A Vancouver Police officer attempted to stop a Honda Civic for failing to display a front license plate. The driver, Joshua Roland, 26, of Clark County, sped north on Northeast 72nd Avenue, passed vehicles on the right and through a red light at Northeast Vancouver Mall Drive, according to police.

Continuing north on Northeast 72nd Avenue, Roland struck a vehicle turning left and slid into two unoccupied parked vehicles, police said. Exiting the vehicle, he fled on foot into an apartment complex.

The vehicle had been reported stolen in Portland.

Roland was arrested on suspicion of attempting to elude law enforcement, possession of a stolen vehicle and multiple counts of hit and run. He was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries sustained in his collision with the parked vehicles, police said. Occupants of the first vehicle were not injured, police said.

Law enforcement shut down Northeast 72nd Avenue from Vancouver Mall Drive to the 5100 block for about 45 minutes.
