Ridgefield schools celebrate end of 2-year construction project

Ridgefield — The Ridgefield School District celebrated the completion of its $49 million construction project on Dec. 6 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Ridgefield High School. In 2012, voters passed a bond so the growing district could upgrade and expand its campuses. At the ribbon cutting, Superintendent Nathan McCann and others involved with the two-year project applauded the efforts that went into improving the district’s facilities. The renovation and construction of school buildings, including additional classroom spaces at the district’s schools, as well as a new multipurpose performance facility and turf field at Ridgefield High School, were the first major upgrade to its campuses in two decades. “We are so grateful to the Ridgefield community for their support of this capital facilities project,” McCann said in a press release. “The district looks forward to strengthening partnerships with the community to continue to enrich and improve student learning in our schools.” For more on the project, visit www.ridge.k12.wa.us/Domain/19.
