SEATTLE — Authorities in Pierce and southern King counties say they think one man is responsible for at least 15 recent armed robberies.

The holdups have been happening almost daily for the last three weeks, since Nov. 26.

The robber has been holding up convenience stores. On Wednesday, he also hit a gas station.

Now there are concerns he may be getting bolder.

Police say the robber acts as if he’s going to make a cash purchase. When a clerk opens the register, the robber pulls out a gun and demands money. Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock says if the money isn’t handed over fast enough, he reaches across the counter.

Schrock says police worry the robber may be feeling increasingly brave.
