Forest service announces holiday office hours, closures

The Gifford Pinchot National Forest headquarters in Vancouver will reduce its hours in the next two weeks due to the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, the U.S. Forest Service announced.

The main office at 10600 N.E. 51st Circle will be closed on Dec. 25, Dec. 26, Jan. 1 and Jan. 2, according to the forest service. The office will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

The Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument office at 42218 N.E. Yale Bridge Road in Amboy will operate on the same holiday hours as the Vancouver headquarters, according to the forest service.

Regular winter hours for the Gifford Pinchot forest headquarters in Vancouver are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, though the office is closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. each day.

The Mount St. Helens monument office in Amboy is normally open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the winter.
