A vigil for peace and in memory of the children killed in Peshawar, Pakistan, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Esther Short Park.

The vigil is sponsored by a group of progressive, interfaith clergy in Clark County and the Islamic Society of Southwest Washington.

“We are all shocked. The whole world is shocked,” said Dr. Khalid Khan of the Islamic society, who added that he grew up about 100 miles from Peshawar.

On Dec. 16, Taliban militants stormed an elementary school there and killed 132 children and nine teachers.
