Police arrested two Vancouver residents who allegedly broke into multiple cars in Camas over the last few weeks and used stolen credit cards to buy merchandise at area businesses.

On Monday, Camas police responded to a report of a car prowl in progress and pulled over the reported suspect vehicle. Inside were Joshua L. Huggins, 35, and Destiny L. Ortiz, 25, both of Vancouver.

Believing the pair to be linked with the local car prowls, police got search warrants for their vehicle and house. Police recovered than 200 pieces of evidence, including items bought with credit cards stolen out of vehicles, according to the Camas Police Department.

Huggins and Ortiz were booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary, second-degree identity theft, second-degree vehicle prowl, third-degree possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of a firearm.
