Three youth soccer teams from Southwest Washington won championships in the Washington Youth Soccer Recreational Cup state tournament.

The Vancouver United Cheetahs won the boys under-16 tournament. The Camas-Washougal Wolves won the boys under-19 tournament. And the Salmon Creek Warriors won the girls under-14 tournament.

The semifinal and final matches were played over the weekend of Dec. 13-14 at the Starfire Sports Complex.

Boys under-19 — A team of high school seniors who reunited after four seasons, the Camas Washougal Wolves capped their youth soccer careers as champions.

The Wolves beat the Redmond Stingrays 3-0 in the semifinals. Later on Dec. 12, the Wolves beat the Fall City Rovers 2-1 in the state final.

Chad Kirby scored two goals and Brooks Burns scored one in the semifinals. In the finals, Kirby scored the first Wolves’ goal and Chad JJ Guo scored the winner with about 10 minutes remaining.

Wolves coach Wayne Svilar said the team came back together after several seasons apart to play one final season.

“The highlight was watching a group of young men play harder for each other than they ever would for themselves,” Svilar said.

Playing for the Wolves were Colby Allen, Brett Ball, Alex Barnes, Nitin Beri, Marshall Braaten, Liam Bradley, Brooks Burns, Brennan Dyehouse, Brendan Geigenmiller, Blake Gowing, JJ Guo, Joshua Harimoto, Allan Huang, Sam Johnson, Drew King, Chad Kirby, Ben Klave, Konner Lessard, Bradley Stanchfield and Matt Svilar.
