What’s open and what’s closed for Christmas:

MAIL: Post offices open Wednesday, regular home delivery. Post offices closed Thursday. Only priority mail delivered Thursday. The postal unit at Shell, 1605 N.W. Sixth Ave., Camas, is open 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. every day of the year.

GARBAGE: Regular service Wednesday. Trash and recyclables normally picked up Thursday or Friday by Waste Connections in Vancouver and most of Clark County will be picked up one day late. Friday’s normal collection will be picked up Saturday. In Camas, Thursday’s trash and recyclables will be picked up Friday with Friday’s regular collections.

PUBLIC LIBRARIES: Fort Vancouver Regional Library closed Wednesday and Thursday. Camas Public Library open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, closed Thursday.

CLARK PUBLIC UTILITIES: Offices open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, closed Thursday. For 24-hour customer service, call 360-992-3000. For outages or emergencies, call 360-992-8000.

GOVERNMENT OFFICES: Open Wednesday, closed Thursday.

PARKING METERS: On-street parking in Vancouver is free Thursday.

BUSES: C-Tran follows regular schedule Wednesday. On Thursday, C-Tran follows the Sunday/holiday schedule. On Friday, C-Tran follows the reduced service schedule. TriMet follows regular schedule Wednesday. On Thursday, TriMet follows the Sunday schedule.

DRIVER’S LICENSING: Offices open Wednesday, closed Thursday.

EMISSIONS TESTING: Closed Wednesday and Thursday.

VEHICLE LICENSING: Open Wednesday, closed Thursday.

BANKS: Most close early Wednesday. Check specific bank for details. Closed Thursday.

FINANCIAL MARKETS: New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq and other markets open until 10 a.m. Pacific time Wednesday, closed Thursday.

ZOO: Oregon Zoo open Wednesday, closed Thursday.

GIFFORD PINCHOT NATIONAL FOREST: Offices in Vancouver and Amboy open 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, closed Thursday and Friday.

MARSHALL COMMUNITY CENTER: Open 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, closed Thursday.

FIRSTENBURG COMMUNITY CENTER: Open 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, closed Thursday.

ANIMAL SHELTERS: Humane Society for Southwest Washington: Open noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, closed Thursday. West Columbia Gorge Humane Society: Dog shelter open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, closed Thursday. Cat shelter open 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, closed Thursday.

WESTFIELD VANCOUVER MALL: Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday. J.C. Penney is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Nordstrom is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Mall is closed Thursday.

THE COLUMBIAN: Offices open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, closed Thursday. Circulation customer service open 4:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday and 4:30 a.m. to noon Thursday.
