Orchards — For having the highest percentage of store employees in their district who chose to make charitable donations in a recent company giving campaign, Orchards Fred Meyer was able to pick a local organization to be the recipient of $5,000. During the Associate Giving Campaign, 87 percent of store associates agreed to have part of their paychecks go to charity, said store Director Shawn Pidcock. Because of that high percentage of participants, the store was given $5,000 to donate to a charity. Employees chose Vancouver’s Called to Rescue, which helps rescue minors from sex trafficking and violence. This was the third year in a row that the Orchards store was able to make a $5,000 donation.
