Vancouver — The Clark College Foundation received a $35,000 grant for scholarships for veterans and students enrolled in health-related programs at Clark College.

The grant from the Anna C. MacAskill Schwab & Dwight L. Schwab Charitable Foundation funds scholarships that help student veterans integrate into the workplace through career training.

Nearly 800 veterans are enrolled at Clark College.

The grant also provides scholarships for nursing, dental hygiene and medical radiology students.

An aging population and retiring health care workers has created demand for health care graduates. In this decade, at least 6,000 health care jobs will be available annually in Washington.
