Kids, Clark County cops go shopping together

The Columbian
Published:

Clark County — Police in Battle Ground, Camas and Vancouver teamed with area children to choose some Christmas cheer from the shelves of local stores on Dec. 13. Shop With a Cop is an event hosted annually by local law enforcement agencies and retailers. This was Battle Ground’s first time participating. Battle Ground police and 15 children (plus grown-ups) started with goodies donated by Old Town Battle Grounds and Safeway before heading to the Battle Ground Wal-Mart store, where they spent a $2,500 Wal-Mart Community Grant for the kids and their families, as well as for five more kids and families who weren’t there. The same happened with Camas kids and police at the Wal-Mart in East Vancouver, and Vancouver kids and police at the Target store in Vancouver Plaza.
