Letter: De Blasio missteps in his response

Referring to his critics who have partially blamed him for the recent killings of two New York City police officers, Mayor Bill de Blasio’s spokesperson said, “It’s unfortunate that in a time of great tragedy, some would resort to irresponsible, overheated rhetoric that angers and divides people.” I couldn’t believe what I was reading.

This is the same “leader of the people” who just last week sided with “peaceful” protesters who chanted, “What do we want? Dead cops,” blamed police for the murder of Eric Garner, blamed police for racial problems in neighborhoods, told blacks they could not trust the police, etc., etc. Now he wonders (or maybe he doesn’t) why two of his officers (both minorities, by the way) are murdered by a lunatic out for revenge.

De Blasio is a world-class hypocrite or the dumbest pinhead who ever walked the face of the earth. I loved the image of the police turning their back to him as he walked to the hospital for his photo shoot and “heartfelt comments.”
