Girls basketball: Battle Ground 53, Benson 21

Jossilyn Blackman was 10 for 17 from the floor and scored 29 points, leading the Tigers to their first win of the girls basketball season.

Blackman also grabbed 15 rebounds in this game, part of the Evergreen tournament.

Battle Ground held Benson of Portland to zero points in the first quarter.

Kylie Smith had five points and nine rebounds, and Alena Jarvis had four assists for the Tigers.

Battle Ground plays again at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the Evergreen tournament.
