Boys basketball: Woodland 50, West Valley (Yakima) 37

Solid defense helped get Woodland a split of its two games at the SunDome Shootout in Yakima.

Woodland (6-2) held West Valley to one field goal in the first half, building a 28-7 advantage. Ryan Sturdivan made four 3-pointers in the first quarter to get the Beavers going.

Woodland led by as many as 20 points in the fourth quarter.

Tanner Froeber led Woodland in scoring with 15 points and Sturdivan had 14.
