Letter: Cherish freedom to assert opinions

The Columbian
Published: February 2, 2014, 4:00pm

This would be a wonderful world if The Columbian and all other news sources would print my point of view on everything — or would it?

I refer to the Jan. 20 letter “Republicans don’t get a fair break” by Jeanne Schaefer-Ringo, who is undoubtably a sincere and loyal Republican. I have been a reader of The Columbian, off and on, from the time I was able to read, about 80 years ago. I, too, have read things in The Columbian that I disagree with but I do not agree that they should stop reporting news and opinions that I do not like. Millions of us young boys and girls gave our time, and some their lives, to protect this freedom for all — yes, for Republicans and Democrats alike.
