Boys basketball: King’s Way Christian 61, Castle Rock 45

King’s Way Christian needed a dominant second half effort to pull away from Castle Rock on Tuesday night to improve to 10-6 in 1A Trico League play.

After a hot start by King’s Way’s Kienan Walter, who scored 10 of his 20 points in the first quarter, Castle Rock stormed back to take the lead heading into halftime.

Jay Becker stepped up in a big way in the second half where he scored all 17 of his points for King’s Way.

It was King’s Way’s defense that put the game away as they held Castle Rock to only one field goal in the final period.

Brock Johnson led Castle Rock with 14 points.
