BEND, Ore. — The Hoodoo Ski Area in Central Oregon plans to open Friday after a weekend of snow. The area has been short of snow since its planned opening in late November.

General Manager Matthew McFarland tells The Bulletin newspaper in Bend it started snowing Thursday, and about an inch fell every few hours.

He says it wasn’t the huge snowfall the ski area has been hoping for, but it’s enough to get the area open.

A press release says ticket prices will be announced Thursday, based on the number of lifts and runs expected to be open Friday. It says the Autobahn Tubing Park remains closed until there’s more snow.

Forecasters expect another storm this weekend.
