MEDFORD, Ore. — A registered sex offender is charged with raping a woman in a restroom at Rogue Community College.

The 33-year-old Medford man, Juan Fidencio Holman-Ramirez, was arraigned Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court and is held on $1 million bail. He told police the encounter with the 24-year-old woman was consensual. Neither are Rogue college students.

The Mail Tribune reports the two met in downtown Medford Thursday and walked to the campus looking for cigarettes. When he allegedly started fondling her, she retreated into a unisex restroom to get away. Police say he forced his way inside and attacked her.

He has previous convictions for sex abuse and failing to report as a sex offender.
