Letter: Where’s evidence that God exists?

In rebuttal to Lena T. Jones’ Feb. 4 letter “Evolution is just a hunch,” I know there are still individuals who believe in the myths of creationism and are blind to the evidence of evolution, which has been backed up with ongoing research in the field of genetics. Such individuals will never be able to see evidence provided by any scientific discoveries. But what I find interesting is that such individuals are unable to see the conflicting dictates in their own religious texts. I have studied several religious texts, all are poorly written and describe their gods in such a manner that it is easy to see that such beings would be considered sociopaths in modern society.

Taking Jones’ “evidence” for disbelief in evolution can be turned around and used to show that there is no real evidence that Jesus is any more real than Hercules. The lack of evidence for her god and its irrational behavior indicates that it is the creation of a primitive society and is long overdue for relegation to studies in mythology.
