R.A. Long had three shots at a game-winner in the closing seconds, but Washougal hung on to win and stay alive in the postseason hunt.

The second of David Wallace’s two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter gave Washougal a 58-55 lead late in the third quarter. R.A. Long hit two free throws to cut the lead to 58-57.

After a missed Washougal free throw, the Lumberjacks got off three off-balanced shots in the closing seconds, but none would go in. A fourth attempt went in the basket, but came after the buzzer had sounded.

The win tied the Panthers with R.A. Long at 3-4 in the 2A GSHL. Both teams play Wednesday, and if they remained tied, a tiebreaker game will be needed on Thursday or Friday for the final berth to district.

Austin Tran led Washougal with 15 points, Noah Prangley had 13. Wallace finished with 10, and Preston Jones had nine points and 11 rebounds.
