The annual rite of the winter sweet tooth has arrived.

Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington started their annual cookie sales drive Friday.

The scouts have set up booths at several local retailers and will sell eight cookie varieties this year: Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Trefoils, Thank U Berry Munch, Dulce de Leche and Savannah Smiles.

Cookies cost $4 per box, and sales end March 9.

Proceeds go to help local Girl Scout troops. Visit http://girlscoutsosw.org/ for information or to find sales locations.
