Girls basketball: Woodland 49, Elma 41



Outscoring the Eagles 10-2 down the stretch, the Beavers advanced to the Class 1A District 4 championship game and nailed down a spot in the state regionals.

Woodland will play Montesano on Friday in a matchup of undefeated teams. The time and location of that game was not announced on Saturday.

Jessica Flanagan broke a tie score with a 3-pointer with about three minutes left in the game played at Kelso High School. The Beavers added a pair of free throws on their next possession for a little bit of breathing room.

Flanagan, Madison Sorenson and Mckenna Mulder each scored 12 points for Woodland (21-0).

The Beavers led by eight at halftime, but the Eagles pulled even by the end of the third quarter. a period Sorenson sat out because of foul trouble.

Flanagan and Sidra Malik each made five steals. Mulder had four blocked shots. Kendall Grell grabbed nine rebounds and Sorenson had seven boards.
