SALEM, Ore. — Oregon lawmakers want to allow a Gladstone man to keep the pet lynx he has had for 16 years.

A bill on its way to Gov. John Kitzhaber would allow the state Agriculture Department to permit people to keep certain exotic animals under special conditions.

KATU reports Kitzhaber has indicated he’ll sign the bill.

It was sponsored by Sen. Alan Olsen of Canby for Patrick Clark and his 35-pound pet Siberian lynx Sosha.

Clark is a Marine veteran and says Sosha is therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder.
