Truth is recounted by eyewitnesses

In regard to Roy G. Wilson’s Feb. 17 letter “Because Bible says so is not proof,” archaeological digs have proven and continue to prove places and facts contained in the Bible are true. The location of Sodom was determined from a mosaic map found on the floor of a church Madaba, Jordan. There is evidence through the digs at the site that the destruction of the city is precisely as described in the Bible.

The Bible is a book developed over hundreds of years by different inspired contributors. It is more than a history book; it is a book of hope for a better life and book of the future as related by the letter of Revelation from Jesus at the back of the book.

Our society is governed by laws, a part of which is the jury system. Included in that is the availability of eyewitnesses to testify as to the truth of an event for the people that were not at the event and yet can believe what happened. The Bible contains many eyewitnesses to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and his ensuing contact with people. This is not some novel written for entertainment but the book of truths for your salvation as he died for you.

Richard D. Wells
