JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jarvis Haywood scored 12 of his season-high 22 points in 10 minutes, sinking his first five shots, as Jacksonville broke out quickly against Kennesaw State en route to an 86-66 win Wednesday night.

The Dolphins (5-8, 1-1 Atlantic Sun) were a red-hot 73.7 percent shooting in the first half, 14 of 19, and finished at 65 percent.

With 11:20 to play, Haywood rebounded a Keith McDougald miss and scored a layup to notch his 500th career point. McDougald added 14 points for Jacksonville and Vince Martin 16 on 4-for-5 3-point shooting

Orlando Coleman and Delbert Love scored 17 and 15 points as Kennesaw State (3-12, 0-2) did not go quietly. The Owls forged a 13-0 run to slice a 26-point deficit in half, and fought within 72-64 with a 15-8 burst interspersed with three timeouts.

Jacksonville answered with a Martin 3-pointer and a Javon Dawson (12 points) fast-break dunk.
