Department of Revenue plans tax workshops

The Vancouver office of the Washington State Department of Revenue said Friday it will convene a free tax workshop for new and small-business owners from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 15 at 8008 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Suite 340, in Vancouver.

Participants will learn about state excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, tax incentives, sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements. They also will receive a workbook and helpful reference guide to Department of Revenue rules and regulations. To register, visit the Department of Revenue at www.dor.wa.gov or call 360-256-2060.

Space is limited. A complete schedule of workshops statewide and a short streaming video version of the workshop are available on the website.
