H-RoC, an organization created to support women leaders, will host its quarterly “cocktails and conversation” event 6 p.m. Jan. 28 in the upstairs dining room of the Grant House, 1101 Officers Row in Vancouver.

Attendees will hear about lessons learned on the campaign trail from Ridgefield City Councilwoman Sandra Day, Vancouver City Councilwoman Anne McEnerny-Ogle, East County Fire and Rescue Commissioner Martha Martin, Camas School Board Director Julie Rotz and Vancouver Public Schools Director Kathy Gillespie.

The event is free to H-Roc members; admission is $10 for nonmembers. The event includes complimentary appetizers, and guests can buy their own cocktails. Seating is limited and guests must register before hand by emailing letstalk@h-roc.org.

H-RoC describes itself as a nonpartisan political action committee. Its name is a nod to the William Ross Wallace poem titled “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle is the Hand That Rules the World.”
