Cleveland State edges Detroit 73-63

CLEVELAND (AP) — Jon Harris scored 18 points and Anton Grady added 15 more while grabbing eight rebounds to lead Cleveland State to a 73-63 win over Detroit on Wednesday night.

Cleveland State (10-7, 2-1 Horizon League) broke away midway through the first half with a 16-4 run that included a Harris 3-pointer, a layup and a dunk to make it 22-8 with 7:48 to go, then carried a 37-27 advantage into the break. The Vikings forced 14 turnovers while giving up just six and used a 7-1 spurt in the final minutes to secure the win.

Detroit (8-9, 1-1 Horizon) rallied late in the second half with a 19-8 run capped by an Evan Bruinsma layup to pull within four with 3:33 to go, 66-62, before Cleveland State put the game away.

Bruinsma led the Titans with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Anton Wilson also scored 17.
