Girls basketball: Union 44, Battle Ground 36

The Titans hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to surge past the visiting Tigers.

Grace Davis, Annie Williams and Tessa Vanderpool made 3-pointers as Union outscored Battle Ground 18-9 in the fourth quarter of the Class 4A Greater St. Helens League game.

Union made seven of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. The game was tied at 32 before Union’s defensive pressure helped turn momentum to the Titans.

Sophomore Abby Forsyth led the Titans attack, scoring 16 points. Vanderpool came up with 10 defensive rebounds.

Battle Ground’s Jossilyn Blackman led all scorers with 19 points.
