Blue Jackets activate forward Matt Calvert off IR

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets activated forward Matt Calvert off injured reserve Thursday after he missed seven games because of a shoulder injury.

Calvert was hurt in a 6-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Dec. 21.

The 24-year-old has four goals and four assists in 17 games this season and has 24 goals and 23 assists in 114 career NHL games, all with the Blue Jackets. He was Columbus’ fifth pick, 127th overall, in the 2008 NHL draft.

The 5-11, 187-pound left winger from Brandon, Manitoba, had nine goals and seven assists in 42 games with the Blue Jackets in 2012-13 and added 10 goals and 11 assists in 34 games with Springfield, Mass., of the American Hockey League.
