Six people were arrested following a Thursday morning search warrant near West 13th Street and Kauffman Avenue, Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

Police had developed information that there was a methamphetamine lab operating out of a residence in the area, Kapp said, so the agency had Washington State Patrol’s SWAT team assist in serving a search warrant at 7 a.m.

Police became aware of the possible drug house, 1010 W. 13th St., while investigating an assault and robbery that took place Dec. 19, Vancouver Sgt. Jeff Kipp said.

Kipp said that 22 people were in the house. One of them, James R. Montoya Jr., 35, was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine. He also allegedly violated city code for solid waste storage and open storage of junk.

Five others inside the house were arrested on active warrants: Brian L. McKenzie, 35, John B. Bay, 31, Marcellus T. Boswell, 41, Anthony A. Munn, 38, and Tiffany E. Evert, 32.

Upon initial search, officers did not see evidence of a drug lab, but continued to investigate.
