TAUPLITZ, Austria (AP) — Peter Prevc of Slovenia won the second and last World Cup ski flying event of the season Sunday to earn the crystal globe in the discipline.

Prevc finished on 180 points to beat Noriaki Kasai of Japan, who became the oldest winner of a ski jump competition at the age of 41 at Saturday’s competition.

Prevc received 369.0 points for jumps of 186 and 198 meters to edge Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria by 2.1 points. Kasai took third with 365.8 points.

Simon Ammann of Switzerland led after the opening round but dropped to fourth with 365.5 points following a 190-meter effort in the final round.

It was the first individual victory for Prevc, who has won five World Cup team events.
