What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

1

Lucky enough to get a ticket for Sunday’s NFC Championship game at CenturyLink Field?

Then you probably are either a season ticket holder, paid an arm and a leg on the secondary market or got lucky using Ticketmaster this morning. Oh, and you probably don’t live in California.

Only fans with an address in the Pacific Northwest were eligible to buy what few tickets remained via Ticketmaster.

The Clark College men’s basketball team, at 11-1, is ranked No. 1 in the NWAACC coaches poll.

The Clark women, 11-2, are No. 3 in the poll.

Both teams are on long winning streaks.

And as luck would have it, fans will have two opportunities to see the Penguins in action this week. Clark hosts Tacoma today and Grays Harbor on Wednesday. Both days’ games start at 6 p.m.

The Philadelphia Inquirer called the snub historic.

Ashley Wagner was named to the U.S. Olympic figure skating team over Mirai Nagasu. The U.S. gets three skaters and Wagner finished fourth at nationals on Saturday behind Nagasu.

“Looking at Ashley Wagner’s record and performances, she’s got the top credentials of any of our athletes,” said USFSA president Patricia St. Peter on Sunday.
