Junior Megan Bloom scored a career-high 24 points to go with 16 rebounds, and Morgan Anthony sank the game-winning free throw in overtime as Columbia River beat Kelso 58-57 in 3A Greater St. Helens League action Monday.

Columbia River was down by four in the final minute of overtime and came back to tie thanks to some timely steals.

Kelso went to the free-throw line with the scored tied and missed both shots. Anthony came down with the rebound and was fouled under the hoop.

She missed the first and made the second to give River the win.

“The kids showed a lot of heart,” River coach Carl Click said. “They believe they can win. They were down and out a couple of times and came back.”
